Hi Tim, this came up when someone "googled" my name to locate an article I wrote. I am so glad someone is doing a "Deratany" blog; I would love to know more about some of the Deratany's . I am a lawyer, living in Chicago, and my name comes up because of some of my cases involving medical malpractice, adoption negligence etc. I hope to hear more on this blog from others--My father was Alfred Deratany and his father was George Deratany from Detroit, are we related?

Jay, It is very possible we are related. My family is from Detroit. My father is Ron and his father is William or Bill. I did have a George who was a 2nd uncle. However he had only one son named Doug.

Hi Tim and Uncle Jay,
This is Deana Deratany. I googled our last name today and I found this webpage. What is going on? Are we related? I am the daughter of Dean Deratany who is the son of Afred Deratany. That would be really interesting if there are more family ties somewhere. please contact me.

Did George Deratany ever work at a Sears down in Boca Raton, Florida? My Father works there now and they told him a George Deratany worked there. (Funny Coincidence.) That George is my Dad's 2nd cousin.

Hi Deana(my lovely niece) My grandfather George lived in Lakeland Florida but I dont think he worked in Boca Raton. He Died in about 1967, but Tim I think you know my Aunt Yvonne Deratany(Holwey) She and her husband Phil Holwey live near Boca
